onXmaps Founder and Mechanical Engineer Eric Siegfried
Eric Siegfried founded onXmaps, Inc., in 2009 at the Missoula, Montana-based GPS company. For almost 10 years he developed a team that transformed the way hunters and outdoor enthusiasts engage with the outdoors. onXmaps began as a modest startup and has since expanded into the leading outdoor recreation app, as well as a developer of several industry-leading technology products. He and team launched the onX Hunt app product in 2013. During his tenure at onX, Eric Siegfried oversaw all business activities at onXmaps, including project and budget management, business strategy, and product vision. Before establishing onXmaps, he served as a mechanical engineer at DC Engineering, also in Missoula.
Mr. Siegfried received his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Montana State University. He is a member of the Mount Dean Stone committee, which oversees a Missoula recreation area organized by the Five Valleys Land Trust. He enjoys hunting, hiking, skiing, backpacking, snowboarding, land stewardship, ranching, and trail running.
